TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) Chairman Agus Rahardjo said that he is ready to give his testimony in the electronic ID or e-KTP graft case trial. During the procurement of the project, Agus was the head of National Public Procurement Agency (LKPP) that was acted as the adviser.
"If the court needs my testimony, I'm ready," Agus said in Jakarta, Wednesday, March 15, 2017.
During the e-KTP procurement, the LKPP advised the nine works at the e-KTP project were done by a consortium of several corporations. He reasoned if the jobs were collected to be one, there would be a monopoly and was potential to be corrupted. However, the advice was ignored by the Home Affairs Ministry.
Agus’ concern is proven to be true. The Rp5.9 e-KTP project is allegedly corrupted by the officials of Home Affairs Ministry, politicians, and private parties. According to KPK, the graft has caused a state loss of Rp2.3 trillion. The graft money was given to around 40 people and corporations to win the project. Based on the prosecutor’s indictment, the majority of the graft receivers were the member of the House of Representatives’ Commission II and the officials of Home Affairs Ministry.
The House deputy speaker Fahri Hamzah accused that Agus has a conflict of interest on the e-KTP project. According to him, Agus took part in a negotiation to win one of the consortiums. However, the consortium was lose.
Agus admitted that he did not want to comment on Fahri’s accusation. He has urged the public to respect the legal proceeding.
