TEMPO.CO, Jakarta- The Greater Jakarta (Jabodetabek) commuter line tariff will increase by Rp1,000 on October 1, from Rp2,000 to Rp3,000.
Director for Traffic, Directorate-General of Train, the Transportation Ministry, Zulfikri said the reason behind the planned commuter line fare hike is the improved purchasing power.
“We have noticed that ticket [price] has not been increased for two years,” Zulfikri said Thursday, August 19, 2016, as quoted by Bisnis.com.
He said that in setting the commuter line ticket price the Transportation Ministry has taken into account the purchasing capability of passengers in order to encourage modes of transport shift from road transport to commuter line.
