Saudi Arabia's Flynas Air

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Saudi Arabian airline Flynas Airline announced that it would provide direct flights from four cities in Indonesia.

“Flynas is expected to facilitate and improve the service of Hajj and Umrah for Indonesian Muslims by providing direct flights from four cities, namely Jakarta, Medan, Surabaya and Makassar, to Medina. And then back from Jeddah with a Boeing 747-400 Jumbo Jet,” said the Flynas Airline’s SVP for Hajj & Umrah and Bilateral Agreements, Ahmed Sultan, in a press release on Thursday, November 29.

Sultan attended the soft launching of Flynas Indonesia at the International Airport Hotel, the Soekarno-Hatta International Airport area, Tangerang.

According to Sultan, the direct flight is expected to increase tourist arrivals to Indonesia (inbound), especially from Saudi Arabia and the Middle East countries. In addition to serving 17 domestic flight routes in Saudi Arabia, Flynas has flight routes in 53 cities with international destinations and 1,000 flight schedule each week.

According to Sultan, Flynas Indonesia will provide convenience for Indonesian Umrah pilgrims and for those who want to continue the flight to a number of countries such as Turkey, Egypt, Uzbekistan, Jordan, United Arab Emirates, India and various cities in African countries.

Sultan explained that Flynas was a Saudi Arabian airline that had existed since 2007. Until now, Flynas with its 30 aircraft units has successfully served more than 32 million passengers. “Flynas will bring 120 new aircraft produced by the Airbus A-320 Neo,” he said.

Flynas is also an airline that has an operating permit to organize Hajj and Umrah from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The airline will offer full service during the flight, including special meal dishes with Indonesian menu.
