TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The senior investigator of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) Novel Baswedan said he was not the only KPK official who was threatened by attack and terror. Many KPK investigators experience attacks and threats while on duty investigating a corruption case.
“I say many [investigators] because the number above five [people], other officials are also attacked,” said Novel today, Nov. 1, during an event to commemorate the 500 days of terror against him in the KPK building, Jakarta.

Novel was splashed with acid water on April 11, 2017, near his residence in North Jakarta. Due to the attack, his left eye is almost blind. The perpetrators have yet to be caught thus far.
According to Novel, the anti-graft officials faced many attacks such as kidnapping and threatened to be killed. He continued that the safe house of KPK had been invaded without legal regulation.
Other than those, the investigator's house had been terrorized with a fake bomb, and the car was splashed by acid water. The perpetrators of those attacks had yet been revealed, Novel Baswedan noted.
