TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Jakarta Smart City will create the 'Jakarta Kini' application abbreviated as JaKi. Head of the Technical Implementation Unit (UPT) Jakarta Smart City, Setiaji, explained that it could provide information directly about the current condition regarding traffic and other information.
“Like a personal assistant Google Now. Here, we can get information directly about the situation, whether the area that you usually pass through experience traffic jam or not,” Setiaji said at the 2018 Virtus Showcase in Jakarta, Wednesday, September 5.
Setiaji said the application cooperates with Google for mapping and traffic information by presenting more complete local information like Car Free Day. It can also involve the community to input information about the event.
“Actually the Google Maps (data) is from us. The data about road closing or event, we want to try to use it for ourselves now,” Setiaji said.
To support Jakarta Smart City, JaKi also cooperates with various agencies, including BMKG, in order to provide information on the latest weather condition. Currently, the application is being developed and is likely to be released at the end of this year.
