TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Financial Services Authority (OJK) is giving special treatments to debtors and projects in Lombok that are affected by the earthquake some time ago.
The special treatment is in the form of relaxation in credit and sharia financing assessments, restructuring, and loan and financing disbursements to debtors in all of Lombok Island, Sumbawa Regency, and West Sumbawa Regency.
"The policy is intended to assist the business recovery of debtors and banks, as well as rebuild the economic conditions there. The policy is valid for 3 years since it is stipulated," said OJK's deputy commissioner for strategic and logistics management, Anto Prabowo.
According to OJK's data, there are 39,341 bank debtors affected by the Lombok earthquake. The credit value was recorded at Rp1.52 trillion, owed to 15 commercial banks and 17 rural and/or sharia banks.
The OJK also gives special treatments to 20 non-bank financial companies affected by the earthquake.
To financing companies, the OJK asked to record all debtors affected by the earthquake and are experiencing difficulties to pay installments. The OJK asked the companies to provide relaxations in the form of rescheduling installments, discounting administrative costs and/or eliminating fines for late payments.
