TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Cabinet Secretary Pramono Anung said that Joko “Jokowi” Widodo’s coalition parties had thrown their weight behind Vice President Jusuf Kalla (JK) to become the chief of the Jokowi-Ma'ruf election campaign team.
“All faction suggested that Jusuf Kalla should be the campaign leader,” said the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDIP) politician at the State Palace today.
Pramono added, however, that no official decision has been made despite the approval.
Jokowi is set to make a decision after monitoring the government's efforts to rebuild quake-torn areas in Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB). The president is scheduled to fly to the island this afternoon.
