TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Chairman of the Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI) Maruf Amin visited President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) at the Merdeka Palace, Wednesday afternoon, August 8. They held a closed meeting for about an hour. Unusually, Maruf entered through the side door of the Palace.
At around 3:15 p.m., Maruf Amin came out of the gate next to the Palace. He was picked up by his driver who drove the black Alphard with the plate number B 5 MRF.
A number of journalists tried to intercept his car. When he was called, Maruf did not open the window. The car just drove away.
The discussion between Maruf and Jokowi is not yet known. However, the second meeting today was unscheduled on Jokowi’s agenda.
