TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Democratic Party deputy secretary-general Rachland Nashidik accused President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo and Megawati Soekarnoputri playing dirty since both have not yet announced Jokowi’s running mate thus far.
“Some even says, [they will] reveal [the name] in the last minute of the registration period,” said Rachland on Thursday, July 26.
Rachland said his party lamented the plan and was expected a parallel relationship. According to him, the party would even willing to change their direction should Jokowi and PDIP Party want to ensure them.
Thus, Rachland said, if Jokowi wanted the Democratic party to join his coalition, he must have announced his vice presidential candidate in a bid to let the party review and calculate both Jokowi and his running mate compatibility.
Rachland conveyed the statement following critics delivered by PDIP sec-gen Hasto Kristiyanto on SBY whom he deemed abandoned his relationship with Megawati ahead of the election.
