notably known for its soto, a traditional Indonesian food composed of broth, meat, and vegetables. However, Kudus has a lot more to offer other than its culinary feat.
1. Kretek Kudus Museum
This museum was established to serve as a symbol of Kudus City that is known for its kretek cigarette products, a well-known traditional clove cigarette. The museum houses traditional cigarette production machines and other classic items used to produce the kretek.
2. Kudus traditional houses
This region is known for its traditional house called Joglo Pencu that accentuates its religious residents and ancestors. The essence of its designs come from various influences and has been known to adopt styles from Persia, Europe, and China and has heavy influence on architectures from Hindu and Islam.
3. Monument of identity
The Kudus monument of identity is located in front of the region’s most crowded strategic shopping district. The monument was established to commemorate the people’s struggle to retain independence.
4. Krida Wisata Park
This tourist attraction is located at Wergu Wetan Village in the Kudus City district which is a family friendly recreational park that features educational statues for children.
5. Kudus Tower
This tower constructed by Syeh Ja’far Shodiq in 1685 AD is located 1.5 kilometer West of the Kudus City center. The tower is an archaeologically historic monument that is scientifically explained as the product of acculturation between Javanese, Hindu, and Islamic culture.
6. Monthel and Kali Banteng
This tourist destination is located north of the Sunan Muria burial ground. To reach this location, visitors must journey on foot for one and a half kilometers through a footpath and coffee fields. It houses a 50 meter-high waterfall.
