TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan will make a number of policies to support the Asian Games event on August 18 to September 2. Among them is implementing traffic restriction through the odd-even traffic mechanism.
“The odd-even traffic policy will be applied around the Asian Games venue. But remember, it will only valid during the Asian Games," Anies said at Jakarta City Hall on Thursday, May 24.
The city governor claimed the odd-even policy will also be applied during the Asian Para Games event on 8-16 October.

As compensation for the policy, said Anies, the government provides free transportation, using Transjakarta bus, to people who will watch the Asian Games activities.
With the free transportation, the society is expected to park private vehicles in certain areas. They can continue the journey to the venue using Transjakarta.
Currently, the government has not yet determined the arena where the free transport is provided. However, Anies said his office is preparing two points, namely the outskirts of Jakarta and around the venue.
"Hopefully, the area can be announced before Eid day," said Anies.
Meanwhile, Anies Baswedan said the Asian Games volunteer and media crew can get on the Transjakarta for free by registering themselves first.
