TEMPO.CO, Denpasar - Former US President Barrack Obama and his family landed in Bali for a vacation and other agendas. Ngurah Rai Airbase commander Col. I Wayan Superman said that Obama’s airplane was prioritized to land.
“We prioritized [Obama’s airplane] to land. We have been in communications with [Obama’s] advance team, so there was no problem,” Wayan said after an assembly ceremony in Denpasar on Friday.
Obama’s plane exited the airbase from Ngurah Rai Airbase’s Base Ops gate, which is the same route used by King Salman bin Abdulaziz al-Saud when he visited Bali in March.
Obama and 14 others arrived in Bali on special aircraft Gulfstream G-V N50JE.
Wira Satya Military Resort Command (Korem) Commander Col. Arh I Gede Widyana said that the number of personnel to secure Obama’s visit was not decided.
“It’s tentative. We don’t know where Obama will spend his vacation days,” he said.
Widiyana confirmed that military personnel will be deployed to secure tourist destinations that would be visited by Obama.
