TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Public Works and Public Housing Ministry said that 90 percent of national roads are in good condition.
The Public Works Highway Office director-general Arie Setiadi Moerwanto said that Indonesia currently has 47,000-km long national roads.
“Ninety percent good is a decline compared to the national road condition before 2015 which stood at 92-93 percent in good condition,” he said Wednesday.
He argued that since 2015 Indonesia has built 9,000 kilometers more roads which condition was not good in several locations.
“Those in good condition include alternative roads, both provincial and municipal roads,” he said.
Nevertheless, the Public Ministry ensures that travelers during Eid homecoming will not encounter potholes.
He encourages those who could spot potholes to take a picture and report them via Jalan Kita (Jaki) app for a quick response in repairing the road.
