TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Andi Agustinus alias Andi Narogong, a suspect in the alleged corruption in the electronic ID (e-KTP) procurement, said he met with House of Representatives Speaker Setya Novanto in 2009.

Andi took the witness stand in the e-KTP graft hearing today. He is alleged to have lobbied Setya Novanto to have the Rp5.9 trillion project approved by the House.

Andi said he met Setya in 2009. He said a man named Herman came to his office and said that the Golkar Party needed money to make campaign goods.

"Then he took me to Tee Box café," he said.

Andi said he didn’t know if Herman was also a member of Golkar Party, but said he looked like someone who was quite close to Setya Novanto.

Andi said that at di Tee Box Cafe & Resto in Kebayoran Baru, which belongs to Setya Novanto, he and Setya only talked about campaign goods.

He claimed to have met Setya for the second and last time in the same café to talk about Golkar t-shirts.

"What about in Grand Melia?" KPK prosecutor Abdul Basir asked him.

"Never met him [there]," Andi said.

The alleged meeting at Grand Melia Hotel is one that involved former Secretary General of the Home Affairs Ministry Diah Anggraini. The meeting allegedly took place in February 2010, where—as Diah testified in a previous hearing—Andi asked for Setya to help the DPR approve the e-KTP project.

According to Diah's testimony, the short meeting was also attended by suspects Irman and Sugiharto as well as Setya Novanto and Andi Agustinus a.k.a. Andi Narogong.

Andi also denied claims that he often comes to the DPR building. He said he only went there twice; once to talk about oil palm with Democrat politician Ignatius Mulyono, and once to talk about campaign goods with Golkar legislator Mustokoweni Murdi. Both men have passed away.

"Have you ever had lunch with Golkar faction members on the 12th floor?" prosecutor Abdul Basir asked him. He said he never did.

"So, who did the witnesses said they saw?" Basir asked again.

Andi's answers match Setya Novanto's when the House speaker testified for the same case in April.

Setya said he only met Andi twice when the businessman offered to make Golkar t-shirt for campaign attributes.
