Ministry Urges Taxi Operators to Follow Online-Taxi Strategies

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Transportation Ministry has urged companies operating conventional taxis to adopt market strategies that have been used by online-based taxi companies in attracting consumers.

Those strategies include easy to use applications, low fares and good quality services.

Head of Public Communication Division of the Transportation Ministry J. A. Barata said that it could not be denied that the public will choose transportation means that are cheaper offered by online-based taxis.

"Therefore, online taxis will always be cheaper. So, conventional taxis have to do something and have to offer cheap rate, easy to use application and offer good quality,” Barata said.
