TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - President Director of PT Waskita Karya Tbk M. Choliq said tha as of now, the progress of the light rail transit project in Palembang, South Sumatra, has already reached 40%.
With faster execution of the project, Choliq hopes the project can be completed on time as targetted by the government which is in June 2018.
“The progress is almost 40%, even more. For the civil work jobs, it can be assured that it will be 3 months faster and are expected to be finished by the end of this year," Choliq said on Sunday.
After technical works are finished, PT Waskita will hand the project to state-owned rail operator PT Kereta Api Indonesia for tryout.
The LRT project is prepared to support the 2018 Asian Games held in Palembang and Jakarta.
