TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Pertalite sales number is going up since the fuel was first introduced in September 2015. In East Kalimantan, Pertalite consumption reaches 15,404 kiloliter per month, or up by 48 percent compared to September 2016's volume.
The increase, said Pertamina spokesman for Kalimantan area Alicia Irzanova, erodes Premium gasoline's consumption by up to 60 percent in the province.
"Pertalite consumption monthly growth is significant in East Kalimantan," Alicia said on Thursday, March 16, 2017.
Sold for Rp7,350 per liter, Alicia said, Pertalite competes well with Premium's subsidized price of Rp6,550 per liter. "People who have used Pertalite normally wouldn’t want to go back to Pertamina," Alicia said.
Overall, Pertalite consumption in East Kalimantan reaches 40 tons per day.
Meanwhile, Pertamax gasoline's consumption volume is 4,387 kiloliter a month or up by 17 percent.
