TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Bank Mandiri decided to provide continuous training to debtors of the people’s business credit (KUR) program, specifically micro-scale business, to develop their business.
The pilot project program provides training and coaching to businesses with Rp 20-30 million of monthly revenue in Jakarta, Bogor, Depok, Tangerang, and Bekasi. The debtors will be included in trainings on business processes, financial statements, and how to develop a business persective.
Agus Dwi Handaya, Chief of Office of Bank Mandiri stated that the program is expected to increase the productivity and quality of the participants' business.
"The success of KUR financing is highly depending on debtors ability to improve its financial and operational capacity," Agus said in a written statement on Wednesday, December 14, 2016.
Agus asserted that KUR debtors must possess the technical ability and understanding on the market. "We will continue to increase the number of the program's participants to continue develop the [micro, small-medium enterprises] sector," Agus added.
Agus explained that the program will be held for six months, divided into two different sessions. The first session, Agus said, will last for one month and will include presentation by Bank Mandiri and the Bogor Institute of Agriculture (IPB), interviews, and business visits.
The second session will last for five months, where the debtors will receive mentoring directly in the field. "There will be a gathering once on the first, third and sixth month, where participants can discuss their progress," Agus said.
