Soekarno-Hatta Airport Intensifies Security Ahead of 212 Rally

TEMPO.CO, Tangerang - Soekarno-Hatta Airport operator has maximized securities at terminals and other areas in connection with the upcoming December 2 Rally (212).
“We have prepared a maximum security for Soekarno-Hatta Airport,” Soekarno-Hatta Airport security, rescue & firefighting senior manager Tommy Hadi Bawono told Tempo on Thursday, December 1, 2016.
Tommy said that a multi-layered security system has been applied to secure accesses to the airport from Jakarta, rear gate (M1), Jalan Perimeter Selatan and Jalan Perimeter Utara.
“The Indonesian Military (TNI) and the National Police help us to secure gate accesses,” he added.
Tommy revealed that as many as 360 police and military personnel have been deployed to secure the airport, and 100 Mobile Brigade (Brimob) from West Nusa Tenggara will join tomorrow.
“In addition to securing [the airport], they will also conduct patrols,” he said, adding that the security personnel will check vehicles entering the airport vicinity.
The airport authority will also intensify security checks on passengers and their luggage, by setting up two checkpoints in each terminal. The security will also be reinforced by 3,000 aviation security personnel and 1,600 CCTV installments.
