TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Jakarta City Administration applies the odd-even traffic system in main roads today, August 27.
Head of Jakarta Transportation Agency, Andri Yansyah, said that the trial wll take place for a month. "The real implementation will take place on August 30," said Andri.
Andri added that the agency has deployed a number of offciers in 2 shifts to help monitor the trial.
"There are 140 personnel from the police, 60 from the agency, and 60 from the Public Order Agency," he said.
The odd-even traffic system is dubbed to be the more effective measures in combating traffic, in replacement of the 3-in-1 system. It allows cars with odd numbered plates to pass the road on odd numbered dates, vice versa.
