TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - A 4.2 Richter Scale (RS) earthquake hits Jayapura City and its surrounding at 7:17 a.m. (local time) Wednesday.
The Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) say the quake is located 34km northwest of Jayapura City at a depth of 10km.
The earthquake caused a panic towards the local residents of Jayapura by exiting their homes.
