TEMPO.CO, Jakarta-Five suspects in the bribery case of Bengkulu Court judges have officially been apprehended by the investigators of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) today, May 25, 2016, after being questioned for 12 hours.
Acting Community Relations Chief of the KPK Yuyuk Andriati Iskak said the five men will be put in separate cells. “The suspects will be detained for 20 days,” Yuyuk said in Jakarta.
On May 23, 2016, the KPK arrested the five men in separate locations in red-handed operations. Edi and Syafri have been arrested for allegedly bribing Janner and Tonor to sway the judges in their sentencing decision in the case of misuse of pay for the supervisory body of M. Yunus General Hospital, Bengkulu.
In the operation, the KPK confiscated Rp150 million from Janner. Later the KPK found that Janner had received Rp500 million from Edy on May 17. The money was given to Janner for him to acquit Edi and Syafri, convicts in the corruption case handled by Janner.
