TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Indonesian movie 'Ada Apa Dengan Cinta 2' managed to reap MYR 2 million (around Rp. 6.4 billion) in five days after it hits the screen of hundreds of cinemas in Malaysia, according to Marini Ramlan, Innovation and Distribution Management Official of Primework Studios.
"The revenue gained until today is way beyond expectations. Although [the movie] must compete with other great movies, I believe the number will continue to increase from time to time," Marini said as quoted by Harian Metro on Wednesday, May 4, 2016.
Marini added that the movie's ticket sales managed to reach exorbitant numbers because many people watched it more than once.
"Other than oldschool moviegoers wanting to catch up on the love story between Rangga and Cinta [characters in the movie], many new fans watched it repeatedly," Marini said.
