TEMPO.CO, Jakarta-Trade Ministry revealed that hundreds of businessmen from Oman and Kuwait are interested in establishing trade cooperation with Indonesian businessmen. “At least 150 businessmen are wishing to establish multi-million dollar contracts with Indonesia,” said Trade Ministry’s National Export Development Director General, Nus Nuzulia Ishak on Monday, April 11, 2016.
Ishak received the good news when she lead a trade mission in the two countries in March 27 to April 1. Both Oman and Kuwait governments have given green signal for such cooperation, particularly in a number of sectors, such as trade, energy, investment, banking and professional workers.
She said that it’s a positive signal of Indonesia’s economic growth, bearing in mind that Oman and Kuwait are currently promoting development in various sectors, such as energy, infrastructure, tourism and investment.
Ishak said that she has met with several parties, such as Kuwait Investment Authority, Kuwait Trade and Industry Ministry, Kuwait Investment Company, Gulf Spec, ONG, Management Grand Hyper Supermarket and Salman Al-Dabbous Holding Co. The General Manager of Daud Al-Dabbous has even proposed to establish the House of Indonesia this year.
“We have noted a number of demands on Indonesian professional workers which need to be followed up,” she said.
In addition, Indonesia has received demands on wooden charcoal import worth US$42,000, one container of stick charcoal worth US$9,800, and bathroom accessories worth US$38,000. Moreover, Indonesia has received an early offer for paper products of four container per year worth US$250,000.
Meanwhile, jewelry products have also booked transactions worth US$2,400 for commercial samples and orders reaching US$7,200 which is still under negotiation.
