TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Jakarta Police have taken measures to anticipate the bomb threat recently delivered by the Santoso terrorist group by requesting help from the Special Counter-Terrorism Detachment 88. "We will remain alert," said Muhammad Iqbal, head of Public Relation of the Jakarta Police.
Iqbal's statement was delivered as a response to an online video entitled "Seruan Sang Komandan", in which Santoso can be seen together with some members of the terrorist group. In the video, Santoso said that he had prepared to attack the Presidential Palace and the Metro Jaya Police.
The video was first seen on a Facebook use page, before later shared to other user accounts. Iqbal said that the police is still investigating the origin of the video, and attempt to find the suspect behind the video distribution.
Santoso is known as the leader of the East Indonesia Mujahidin, a group of terrorists spreading fear in the Eastern part of Indonesia.
