Papua Hosts International Boxing Competition

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Thailand national boxer Suor Carry Boy is set to face Indonesian boxer Sam Ferload Puadi from Gelalani Boxing Camp, Sorong, West Papua at the international boxing competition which is held on Saturday night, August 29 at Waringin Stadium, Jayapura.

“The boxers will be fighting in junior light-weight category 58.9 kilogram for 10 rounds in the non-title Asian PAN Pasific championship,” said International Boxing Promoter, Michael Kambuaya in Jayapura, Papua on Saturday, August 29.

The international event is held in Papua with a purpose to encourage development of young local talents. Accordiing Ucu Borlag, a member of the organizer said it also aimed to erase alcoholic stigma that is attached on Papuan younger generation.
