TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Vice President Jusuf "JK" Kalla urged all parties, including hundreds of Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) employees who conducted demonstration on Tuesday, March 3, 2015, to respect the law. Jk delivered his comment following the transfer of Comr. Gen. Budi Gunawan case from KPK to the Attorney General Office (AGO).
JK denied that the demonstration and the criminalization attempts against the KPK will disassemble the Comission. He said that the problems currently happening in KPK are nothing more than personal issues. "However, some people incorporate political emotions to the problems," said Kalla.
Around 500 KPK employees demonstrated in front of KPK building to reject KPK leaders' stance on the transfer of Budi Gunawan's alleged corruption case to the AGO.
"Our statement is already clear. We reject KPK leaders" decision,” said Nanang Syam, one of the demonstrators.
