TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - A ton of pork meat was secured by Tambun Police Precinct, Bekasi, on Sunday, November 2. Its suspected that the pork will be distributed to the local area due to its numerous quantity.
Chief of Tambun Police Precinct, Commissioner Ali Zusron, said the disclosure initially began from a report made by the community who were suspicious by a truck container with license number B-9389-SXR in Jembatan II, KH Noer Ali Street, Kalimalang, South Tambun.
“The truck was unloading many cold sacks,” Ali said on Sunday. The suspicion of residents were proven to be true. Inside those sacks contained pork delivered from Bengkulu. “It is believed to be spread to several places in Bekasi due to its high quantity reaching a ton,” Ali added.
The police have secured the pork along with the vehicle to Tambun Police Precinct for further investigation.
The truck driver, 45-year-old Alwirman, claimed to not knowing that the load he was carrying was pork. “I was only ask to deliver the meat to Bekasi,” he said.
Alwirman admit that he was given Rp400,000 to deliver the meat during his ferry ride crossing from Bakauheni to Merak. Rather than going home empty handed he said, he decided to accept the offer. “I departed from Padang to deliver cosmetics,” said the resident of Pondok Kopi, East Jakarta.
When entrusted to deliver the meat, Alwirman claimed that the sacks contain skins. He was also given a number of the recipient, S. Simanjuntak. “Among locations to Jembatan II, Kalimalang,” he said. But unfortunately, the police have managed to confiscate it.
Simanjuntak, 40 years old, said in Tambun Police Precinct, that he receives shipment of pork from Bengkulu almost every week. He said that those pork will be distributed to several Lapo in Bekasi, that normally serves pork and dog meat.
