TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Indonesian National Police (Polri) have issued a permit to the 'people's party' organizing committee to celebrate the inauguration of Joko Widodo-Jusuf Kalla, Polri spokesman Brig. Gen. Boy Rafli Amar told Tempo yesterday.
However, Jakarta Police spokesman Sr. Comr. Rikwanto said he was still reviewing the proposal of the people's party committee.
"The requirements and information clarity are needed so that police can determine how to take security measures for the event."
Meanwhile, the National Monument (Monas) management unit head Rini Hariyani has yet issued the permit to the party committee to use Monas as the event venue.
"Since [there has been] no permit from the Jakarta Police, I can't issue the permit," Rini added.
Hundreds of thousands of people will reportedly attend the party initiated by the volunteers of Joko 'Jokowi' Widodo-Jusuf 'JK' Kalla. The event is scheduled to take place on Monday, October 20, featuring cultural stages at Monas. The event will also feature carriage-parade taking Jokowi and JK from Hotel Indonesia (HI) Roundabout to the State Palace.
