TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The largest Apple store, iBox, in Indonesia will be inaugurated next month in Kelapa Gading Mall, North Jakarta, with an area of 600 square meters.
"It doesn't only sell goods. Visitors can also test the products directly in this store," said Djatmiko Wardoyo, marketing and communication director at Erajaya, owner of iBox, yesterday.
Customer's experience in testing the products is important because if people only see the physical appearance, they will not be necessarily satisfied when the products have been bought. "We want to build consumer trust towards the products they buy," said Djatmiko.
Erajaya has established 45 iBox stores located in Jakarta, Bogor, Tangerang, Bekasi, Bandung, Cirebon, Solo, Surabaya, Makassar and Palembang. The company targets 60 iBox stores by the end of this year.
Erajaya divides Apple store category based on sizes and services. Stores with a size of less than 100 meters are in Apple Authorized Reseller (AAR) category while those with a size of more than 100 meters are in Apple Premium Reseller (APR) category. AAR only sells Apple products while APR has product services.
Besides iBox, Erajaya also develops official stores for BlackBerry, Samsung and Android. The company now has more 500 retail stores in Indonesia.
