TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - State-owned lender Bank Mandiri, represented by president director Budi Gunadi Sadikin, has donated three garbage trucks to the Jakarta administration, represented by Deputy Governor Basuki “Ahok” Tjahaja Purnama.
Budi said that he hoped the donation would be useful for both residents and the Jakarta administration.
“We wanted to donate something that would help residents. Hopefully the garbage trucks will help ease waste management systems in Jakarta,” Budi told reporters at City Hall on Monday, as reported by Antara News.
Meanwhile, Ahok said he appreciated the bank’s donation and seemed pleased to receive the trucks. “There is too much trash in Jakarta but the city administration does not have enough garbage trucks to collect it. This addition will surely help us,” he said.
Previously, several other parties have also donated garbage trucks to the city administration, such as the Indonesian Chinese Entrepeneurs Association, PT Summarecon Agung and the Taipei Economics and Trade Office.
