TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Traditional watchmakers are planning a huge jump on board smartwatch technology, competing with Samsung, Motorola and other electronic giants.
Swatch is the latest brand to reveal that it would launch its own fitness feature smartwatch in 2015, the Digital Spy reported.
Previously, the company has resisted the smartwatch revolution since it feels they lack elegance, but Swatch is now under pressure from the rumored Apple iWatch.
The Switzerland-based firm tells their plans to introduce fitness functions to its Touch digital watch line, but did not detail the exact features.
Swatch has previously appeared frightened of Apple's potential impact on the watch market, after the company was reported to block the iWatch name from being trademarked.
It was claimed because Swatch was concerned that the label is too similar to its own product iSwatch.
