TEMPO.CO, Pangururan, S. Sumatra - The implementation of the 2014 Horas Fiesta that happens to be an annual agenda of the Tourism, Art and Culture Department of Samosir, North Sumatra, aims at promoting the beauty of Lake Toba and the potential local tourism in the hopes of being recognized worldwide.
"Horas Samosir Fiesta is meant to support vision achievements of the Samosir District as the 2015’s innovative local tourism environment destination," Expert Staff Regent of Samosir in the Government Field, Drs. Melani Butarbutar, told reporters in Pangururan earlier today.
The art and culture of N. Sumatra (Batak) needs to be revitalized for development so in the coming future, Samosir can become the art-and-culture reference typical to the region, said Melani.
In an effort to increase tomorrow's tourism promotion, the district with a tagline of "Samosir A Beautiful City of Heaven’s Piece (Samosir Negeri Indah Kepingan Surga)" will present a Hermann De Lago, an Austrian musical oschestra group, in playing Batak music.
Head of Tourism, Art and Culture Department of Samosir, Ombang Siboro, mentioned through Horas Fiesta, that young generations are expected to understand the tradition and culture, so in the future they can appear as a cutural figure.
"The Horas Samosir Fiesta event that have started since July 2014 will end on the old and new celebration on December 31 in Tuktuk Siadong village," Ombang said.
