TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The United Development Party (PPP) Secretary General M. Romahurmuziy (Rommy) said his party showed a full support to Prabowo Subianto and Hatta Rajasa's move to file an election-dispute case with the Constitutional Court (MK).
"The lawsuit is a legal tool provided by the Constitution to prevent any fraud in the election," Rommy told Tempo yesterday.
There are massive and systemic frauds found in the results, said Rommy. Prabowo gained zero in hundreds of polling stations in several regencies in Papua.
"There were also breaches of presidential election law by the election committee found at least in 52,000 polling stations in Indonesia," Rommy added.
PPP supported a number of lawsuits filed to the Election Supervisory Committee (Bawaslu), the Election Organization Ethics Council (DKPP), Ombudsman and police.
The lawsuit was an effort to fix the democracy and restore the dignity of the presidential election, instead of an excuse of being not ready to lose.
Rommy also instructed all cadres of the party to leave the matter to the MK and maintain the unity of Red and White Coalition.
