TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Chief of Electoral Commission (KPU) Husni Kamil Manik has issued a warning to two witnesses from the two presidential candidates, namely Arif Wibowo and Didi Supiyanto. "It is a shame that we have to give you both a warning," said Husni, remarking the first warning made since the national recapitulation kicked off.
Arif is a politician from the National Democratic Party of Struggle (PDIP), standing as a witness for Jokowi-Jusuf Kalla. Didi is a cadre from the National Mandate Party (PAN), witnessing the event on the behalf of Prabowo-Hatta.
Arif received a warning for interrupting the explanation from Head of Electoral Supervision Agency of Jakarta Mimah Susanti. "[You] cannot blame a person for utering his opinion," Arif responded. Arif suggested the agency to not blame illegal voters. Didi, also interrupting the session, responded and said that Arif should let Bawaslu.
KPU then legalized the votes from Jakarta, in which Prabowo scores 2,528,064 votes and Jokowi scores 2,859,894. In responses to the result, a number of complaints popped up, especially from those of Prabowo side. Rambe Kamarul Zaman, a witness from Prabowo side, said, "We reject this result."
