TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Prabowo-Hatta presidential pair campaigner Kivlan Zein said he would not bare facts of the missing activists in May 1998 despite being urged by the National Commission on Human Rights (Komnas HAM).

"I only want to reveal facts if there is a national panel and national reconciliation forum," said Kivlan on Monday. He said there must be a moment for national apology, which, in his opinion, is something that Komnas HAM could not afford to bring out.

He said he knew the location of the 1998 activists' tombs but declined to reveal the information as it would open up an old wound. "If I do that, there's a chance that Megawati would be involved," he said. "So I decided to be silent until there is as a national panel."

Previously, former Kostrad Chief of Staff May. Gen Kivlan Zen rejected summons from Komnas HAM over his statement of the disappearance of activists in 1997-1998. A special team was then formed by Komnas HAM to deal with Kivlan.

Kivlan had previously claimed he had important information for investigation on kidnapping of activists. In a televised appearance, he said he knew who kidnapped the activists as well as their whereabouts.
