TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - As many as 12 Yogyakarta royal carriages were rehearsed for the Royal Wedding Parade of Sultan Hamengkubuwono X's daughter, Gusti Kanjeng Ratu Hayu, with Prince Haryo Notonegoro, on the coming October 23. The wedding reception will be held on the Yogyakarta's Kepatihan hall.

"From the rehearsal, we now know the traveling duration needed for the carriage parade and how will they go in and out of the wedding location," said the Head of Public Relation of Yogyakarta Administration, Iswanto on Friday, October 11.

The 12 carriages were not departing from the same locations. Five carriages which will carry the wedding couple, dancers, family of the groom, and maid of honors, will depart from Keben or the south side of the palace. The other seven carriages which will carry The Royal Highness Sultan Hamengkubuwono X and the queen, GKR Hemas and also The Royal Highness Paku Alam IX, will depart from Pagelaran palace via the town center.

The rare moments of watching the royal carriages publicly exhibited on the road drew people's attention. A lot of people watched the carriages being drawn from the Royal Carriage Museum. The carriages were then paraded and pulled by 68 horses. Before the rehearsal, on October 10th, the Sultan took a look to examine the carriages condition himself, especially the Kyai Winomo Putro carriage on which he will be carried.
