TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Police have discovered a new lead regarding the shooter of Adjunct Inspector (Aipda) Sukardi. Head of Public Relations Jakarta Police, Commissioner Rikwanto said the police obtained the new lead after investigating a number of surveillance cameras in several locations around the crime scene, along with some evidences and testimonies from 27 witnesses.
"The findings had shed new light on the shooter's identity, weapon and vehicle," said Rikwato in his office yesterday. According to him, the shooting of Aipda Sukardi on Jl. Rasuna Said last week is different from the one that happened in Pondok Aren. "They both are, however, hard to differentiate specifically," said Rikwanto.
Since two months ago, a number of Indonesian police officers had been gunned down by unknown persons. The police are still investigating the motive behind all of these shootings.
