TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Jakarta Police released an official statement in regards to the deadly police shooting in front of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK)'s office, Jl. HR Rasuna Said, Jakarta, last night. "The shooters were four men riding red Yahama Vixion motorcycles," said Jakarta Police Head of Public Relations, Gr. Commissioner Rikwanto, through a brief release received this morning.
The victim, Bripka Sukardi, was a member of Provost Baharkam at the Police Headquarter. When the incident happened, Sukardi, a member of the water police force, was riding a Honda Supra motorcycle with a license number: B TXL 6671. "The victim was using his uniform," said Rikwanto.
The deceased was escorting six trucks carrying elevator parts from Tanjung Priok to Rasuna Said Tower, Setia Budi. Sukardi took three shots in the chest and abdomen. He was taken to Kramat Jati Police Hospital for autopsy.
The police have examined 11 witnesses.
