Human Rights Commission Attends Cebongan Final Trial

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Siti Noor Laila, Head of the National Commission on Human Rights said that the Commission will attend the reading of verdict on Cebongan Penitentiary casein Yogyakarta. She said that she has sent a team to attend the reading on Thursday, September 5.

"We coordinate with the Witness and Victim Protection Agency [LPSK] and the Judicial Commision," Siti said on Wednesday, September 4. She claimed that the Commission will monitor the verdict on the case.

In addition to the LPSK and Judicial Commission, Siti stated that the Commission also coordinates with Indonesia National Defense Forces and the National Police in relation to the intimidation received by the Commission.

The Cebongan Penitentiary case enters the final stage of the court proceeding as a verdict is scheduled to be read today, September 5.
