TEMPO.CO, Washington – Several sources from the United States government confirmed that Obama's administration has decided to give the Pentagon control over several unmanned drones that were deployed to erradciate terrorism.
Initially, the drones were under the control of the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA). Giving the Pentagon control over some of the drones will allow the United States Congress to have better supervision on the issue.
Obama will discuss the government's policy on the use of unmanned drones in his speech scheduled for Thursday, May 23, at the National Defense University in Washington. However, it is unclear whether he will announce the drone control transfer in the speech or not.
