TEMPO.CO, Yogyakarta - National Commission of Human Rights (Komnas HAM) have summoned Jakarta Govenor Joko Widodo on Thursday, May 16, to discuss the case of eviction of Pluit residents. "To confirm on the eviction," said Siti Noor Laila, the Head of Komnas HAM in Yogyakarta.
The Commission decided to summon Jokowi based on reports they received from evicted residents. Laila confirmed that there were 7,000 households in the area, 300 of which had been evicted and 20 of which currently live in a bunk house. "They also pay taxes," Siti stated.
Laila informed that Jokowi will be questioned on two major issues in the case, which are construction plan transparency and the eviction process.
