TEMPO.CO, Boston – Following the investigation of the Boston bombing, the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) questioned four local hobby store owners. These people were questioned because the FBI suspected that the suspects used parts of a DuraTrax remote controlled car to build the bomb.
Store owners in Massachusetts and across the border of New Hampshire told ABC News that federal agents asked them whether they have sold a 1.25 volt energy battery to someone suspicious. This type of battery is commonly used in remote controlled cars.
Greg Faith, the owner of Inside Out Hobbies in New Hampshire, said that he immediately recognized the batteries and other parts used in radio-controlled cars when he saw it on television.
"An item that supposed to be used for pleasure has now been used for devastation. It's just heartbreaking," he said.
An official from Tenergy, a California-based battery company that produces battery packs specifically designed for DuraTrax remote controlled cars, stated that FBI agents has visited one of their factory as a part of the investigation.
