TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Indonesia recently received two prestigious honors at the 19th China Travel Awards. Alongside Australia, Maldives, South Africa, Thailand, and Turkey, Indonesia was named one of the “Best Destinations 2025 (Country).”

Another major award was presented to Bali, which was recognized as one of the “Best Destinations 2025 (Region).” The recognition highlighted Indonesia’s natural scenery, tourism sector, cultural heritage, and travel experiences in the Chinese market.

The awards were presented by Chinese travel magazine Travel+Leisure China. The China Travel Awards is an annual event that honors outstanding achievements in the tourism and lifestyle industries.

Each winner undergoes a rigorous evaluation process involving industry experts, tourism journalists, and public voting by Chinese travelers.

Indonesian Consul General in Shanghai Berlianto Situngkir said the awards demonstrate the strong competitiveness of Indonesia’s tourism industry.

“This award shows that Indonesia’s tourism industry has strong competitiveness. During last year’s award ceremony, Bali was also selected as a top destination. Indonesia’s inclusion among the best destinations means the quality of Indonesian tourism has received high recognition from international travelers,” Berlianto said.

According to several reports, the achievement is in line with the Indonesian Tourism Ministry’s priority programs aimed at providing higher-quality tourism services to attract premium travelers.

Through a strategy focused on quality tourism development, the Indonesian government has pledged to continue increasing the added value of the country’s tourism industry.
