TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Representatives of Military Investigator II-07 Jakarta will be visiting the victim of an acid attack, Andrie Yunus, at Cipto Mangunkusumo Hospital (RSCM). The visit is planned amidst the ongoing trial of the acid attack case at Military Court II-08 Jakarta. Andrie Yunus' legal representative, Daniel Winarta, stated that they received information about the planned visit of the military prosecutor from the Witness and Victim Protection Agency (LPSK).
"The Military Investigator will be visiting RSCM," said Daniel on Monday, May 11, 2026.
According to Daniel, the visit is suspected to be related to the plan to bring Andrie as a witness in the trial. "Because the judge has asked the investigator whether they have visited or not," said Daniel to Tempo.
The Advocacy Team for Democracy (TAUD) as Andrie Yunus' legal representative had previously submitted a letter of objection to the military trial process. They delivered the letter directly to the Military Court II-08 Jakarta, Cakung, East Jakarta, on Monday, May 11, 2026.
One of TAUD's representatives, Jane Rosalina Rumpia, stated that the submission of the letter was done at Andrie Yunus' request. "This is actually at the request of Andrie Yunus himself," said Jane.
Previously, the Chairman of the Panel of Judges, Fredy Ferdian Isnartanto, had questioned the efforts of the investigators to summon Andrie Yunus as a witness in the trial. Fredy stated that the court has the authority to bring Andrie in.
Meanwhile, the military investigators stated that they are still making efforts to bring Andrie to the trial. "We are still sending letters to the hospital and our last letter has not been answered," said the military investigator in the trial on Thursday, May 7, 2026.
