State Secretary Details Prabowo's Talks with 22 Business Leaders

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Minister of State Secretariat Prasetyo Hadi revealed the contents of President Prabowo Subianto's meeting with several business leaders who are members of the Indonesian Employers' Association (Apindo) on Monday night, February 9, 2026. The business leaders met with the head of state for about three hours.
Prasetyo stated that Prabowo always opens communication channels with various parties, including business actors. "There, he receives a lot of input, including input from the business leaders," said Prasetyo at Gambir Station, Central Jakarta on Tuesday, February 10, 2026.
According to this Gerindra Party politician, business leaders conveyed that business actors and the government must work hand in hand. "Indonesia incorporated agreed that a strong and advanced private sector must be supported and encouraged, as one of the keys to the economy lies with these business leaders," said Prasetyo.
He explained that several points discussed included issues related to the development of labor-intensive sectors and ways for Indonesia to become more competitive globally. "For example, in the textile, garment, and footwear industries. How then do we unite the perception that we must also think to compete at a global level," explained Prasetyo.
Prasetyo emphasized that Indonesia cannot rely solely on its competitive domestic market. "While some other countries are taking a share of that market, which actually represents our competitive advantage as well," he said.
Previously, Prabowo Subianto held an audience with 22 business leaders from Apindo at his private residence in Hambalang, Bogor, West Java on Monday night, February 9, 2026.
The meeting between the head of state and the business leaders took place from 18:50 to 22:00 local time. Prabowo told the business leaders that they have a strategic role in creating job opportunities in Indonesia.
Prabowo explained his vision for Indonesia Incorporated: a government that works with businesses and all stakeholders to strengthen the country's competitiveness and accelerate economic growth.
"Industrial development must provide real benefits for the people, open up job opportunities as widely as possible, and strengthen the nation's independence," said Prabowo, as quoted in a written statement.
