TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Preparations for the Milano Cortina 2026 Winter Olympics are intensifying as the official opening schedule has been confirmed for early February. This sports event is attracting the attention of international tourists who plan to visit Italy.

The 2026 Winter Olympics will take place from February 6 to 22. As reported by Time Out, the opening ceremony will be held at San Siro Stadium, Milan, on Friday, February 6, at 20:00 local time (CET) with the theme Armonia - Harmony.

The opening event will be enlivened with performances by Mariah Carey and legendary Italian singer Laura Pausini. In addition, actresses Matilde De Angelis (The Law According to Lydia Poet), Sabrina Impacciatore (The White Lotus), and actor Pierfrancesco Favino, one of Italy's most famous performers of his generation, will also be in attendance.

Ticket Prices and How to Purchase

If you plan to witness the opening ceremony live, tickets for the Milano Cortina 2026 Winter Olympics opening ceremony are not cheap. The current prices range from around 260 euros (Rp4.6 million) to over 2000 euros (Rp35.4 million), depending on the seat category. Standard tickets start at 700 euros (Rp12.4 million), while the most sought after can reach 2026 euros (Rp35.9 million) or more.

Single tickets for the Milano Cortina 2026 Winter Olympics are exclusively sold through the official ticket portal, and a new sales series has just been released. If interested, now is the time to purchase. One thing to note: all tickets are digital, so there's no need to worry about collecting anything on the day.

Travel Tips and Accommodations

For tourists planning to watch the opening ceremony, it's important to book accommodation early, as the demand for hotels, rentals, and alternative accommodations like Airbnb is expected to be sky high, especially in the city of Milan and its surroundings. Travel experts suggest considering neighboring cities such as Monza, Bergamo, or Como as alternatives that offer better rates and availability.

As reported by Travel + Leisure, getting on public transportation is essential as traffic is expected to be nightmarish during the Olympics, while restricted zones in the center of Milan (Zona Traffico Limitato/ZTL) may slow down travel with private vehicles. Train systems like Trenord are projected to expand schedules and connections to various competition locations in the northern cities of Italy.

Security and Additional Experiences

Security is also a primary focus. Local authorities are expected to conduct extra checks around venues and busy areas, so it is advisable for visitors to arrive early for inspection and seat arrangement.

In addition to watching sports competitions, visitors are encouraged to enjoy the variety of local culture offered by Lombardy, Veneto, and other regions, including sampling local cuisine such as cicchetti in Veneto or risotto in Lombardy.

This Olympic journey also provides a unique opportunity for snow sports enthusiasts to partake in winter activities in the mountains, including purchasing a ski pass that allows access to the extensive Dolomiti Superski ski network while athletes compete.
