TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Indonesia's Nusantara Capital City (IKN) Authority has signed eight contract packages to accelerate the development of the area's second phase. The signing took place at the Office of the Coordinating Ministry for Maritime and Investment Affairs on Thursday, December 4, 2025.

"The development of phase 2 must be better than before. I think this development will be an example for the world in the future," said the Head of the IKN Authority, Basuki Hadimuljono, in a written statement on Friday, December 5, 2025.

This signing aims to accelerate phase two of the IKN development project, which focuses on the construction of legislative and judiciary areas.

The contracted packages consist of five packages for the construction of legislative office buildings, totaling 16 buildings built on a 41.81-hectare plot.

Additionally, two packages were built on a 15.15-hectare plot for the construction of four judicial office buildings.

Furthermore, one package includes the construction of three supporting office buildings for the IKN Phase II Office on 2.9 hectares of land and three supporting office buildings for the IKN Phase I Police Resort Office on 3.07 hectares of land.

The Authority states that the signing of these eight contracts is a further step in ensuring the development of the high state institutions area proceeds according to the designated plans and standards.

The Authority expects the development of the administrative area to strengthen the foundation for governance in the Nusantara Capital City and support IKN's operational target of becoming the political capital by 2028.
