Indonesia Secures a 6-0 Victory Over Taiwan in FIFA Matchday

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Indonesian National Team secured a decisive 6-0 victory over Taiwan in a FIFA Matchday showdown on Friday, September 5, 2025, at Gelora Bung Tomo Stadium in Surabaya, with the Garuda squad showcasing a formidable attacking performance from the opening whistle.

Indonesia took the lead in the 4th minute when Beckham Putra Nugraha delivered a lob into the box that was met with a header from Jordi Amat, beating goalkeeper Huang Chiu Lin.

The momentum continued for Indonesia. A powerful shot from Shayne Pattynama just missed the goal in the 17th minute.

However, the second goal came swiftly in the 23rd minute from Ramadhan Sananta, who capitalized on a corner kick. The goal resulted from a header by Rizky Ridho, which fell to Sananta for a quick shot into the net.

Indonesia extended its lead to three in the 33rd minute. Following a key pass from Eliano to Egy Maulana Vikri, Marc Klok unleashed a powerful long-range shot from outside the box that the goalkeeper couldn't stop.

Just five minutes later, in the 38th minute, Eliano scored the fourth goal, finishing a precise pass from Yakob Sayuri.

At halftime, Indonesia held a commanding 4-0 lead, having controlled 73% of possession and created 12 scoring opportunities.

Coach Patrick Kluivert made changes, bringing on Sandy Walsh for Yakob Sayuri in the second half. Indonesia maintained pressure despite Taiwan's tightened defense.

After a brief scare from a Taiwan counter-attack, Sananta found the net again in the 57th minute. Sandy Walsh also got on the score sheet in the 60th minute, capitalizing on a goalmouth scramble to make it 6-0.

Further substitutions were made in the 65th minute, with Thom Haye, Marselino Ferdinan, and Mauro Zijlstra coming on for Nathan, Egy, and Sananta.

While Indonesia continued to dominate possession, the team struggled to add to their tally. Miliano Jonathans had a chance for a debut goal in the 84th minute, but his shot went wide. The match concluded with a final score of 6-0.
