TEMPO.CO, JakartaTikTok has introduced the Security Checkup feature in account settings to enhance user security. According to TikTok’s Global Security Head, Kim Albarella, this feature simplifies the process of reviewing and updating security settings.

“Users can take control, make updates in seconds, and stay safe and protected,” Albarella stated in an announcement on TikTok’s official page on Monday, March 17, 2025.

To access this feature, users need to open their profile, go to ‘Settings and Privacy,’ and then select ‘Security and Permissions.’ The security check provides step-by-step guidance on key security features.

Within TikTok, the Security Checkup Dashboard will prompt users to update their information and monitor account activity. It tracks essential security aspects such as phone numbers, email, two-step verification, device settings, security activities, and passkeys.

Albarella emphasized TikTok’s commitment to data protection and responsible cyber practices. “We invest in protection at every level and provide people with options and controls so they can create, connect, and share,” she said.
